The sun is setting earlier every day, so you may get stuck out at night and need lights. There are different lights for different applications. 

The lights we sell most often are simple safety lights that run on disposable household batteries (double or triple A.) The batteries last a very long time, and most of these lights will have both flashing and solid beam modes. These are perfect for commuting in areas that do not require you to illuminate the road. Price range $25-$50 for a pair of lights.



If you need enough light to light up the road yourself, then a rechargeable heavy-duty system is a good solution. There are models of this type of light designed for commuting, and for off-road use. Many models can perform either function. The light output on rechargeable systems is much higher than that of safety lights. With a good mountain bike light system you can ride off-road at night at full speed! The price range for this type of light is $130-$400. The high end of the price range is for high performance mountain bike lights, the lights that sell for less than $200 are usually satisfactory for commuting.
